- Hold down on apps – to delete them
- Drag them into a folder, and name the folder to organize them
- Swipe finger as far as you can to the right to find the spotlight feature

- To use the app – take a picture of the worksheet.
- Select Use Move the green balls to the outside corners of the worksheet, click next Now you can zoom in or zoom out
- Zoom in, tap on the pen to write
- Tap on the pen again to move out
- You can also touch the 4 arrows to move all the way out, touch -/+ for brighten screen, touch the half moon for black and white, touch the 90 degrees to rotate, touch the color dot to change color of pen or make big/small. There are also undo and redo arrows
- Click save
- Name the document
- You can email the document by clicking on the paper and arrow or print if you have wireless printing
- To delete a document that you have saved – swipe left

- Dragon dictation - free app for dictation
- PaperPort notes - free app for dictation
- U type I say - student types word, phrase and it will speak it outloud
- UTypeiTalk - student types word, phrase and it will speak it outloud
- StoryLines - a game of "telephone' with pictures. Creative group writing is fostered with this app.
- ABCnotes - sticky notes can be placed anywhere on the screen and multiple places on the iPad -great for note taking
- InkFlow- an app you can use for pre-writing strategies or social stories - allows for writing and drawing
- Scribble Press - allows for students to create books or social stories - typing and drawing in color are options
- QuickVoice - Allows you to record a message and play it back: writing down assignments, answering questions out loud, can "talk" a story but has difficulty writing it, for audio reminders such as homework assignments, or a low tech speaking device (can record messages for community support)
- iPad typer - practice gaining speed on the iPad
- Readit - type in a message, phrase etc. and it will read it outloud

Converting Bookshare materials to iPad
- In settings: Go to "general" then "Accessibility" features, turn on VoiceOver
- Use the iBooks app. to store the books you want to read.

- Project Gutenberg or another free site, select the epub format of the book. (see below for how to convert books)

- Save as PDF
- Open PDF in Calibre
- Convert to MOBI for the Kindle or ePub for the iPad
