My Education
I grew up in Weston, Wisconsin and attended D.C. Everest Schools from Kindergarten through my Senior Year. I then went to Concordia University, Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. My emphasis in my clinical rotations were School Based Practice, Mental Health and Physical Rehabilitation. I went on to work in Physical Rehabilitation until October of 2001 where I was hired by D.C. Everest School District. In 2004 I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Professional Development through UW LaCrosse, Wisconsin. My thesis was on using Multi-sensory Environments to enhance educational outcomes. Since 2004 I have completed over 40 additional graduate credits mostly involving Psychology, Disabilities and Autism. In 2012 I graduated from Health Touch School of Massage as a Massage Therapist. My professional interests include: Autism, ADHD/ADD, Collaborative Problem Solving Approach (Ablon/Greene), Relationship Development Intervention (RDI), The Zones of Regulation and professional speaking engagements for community agencies.
My Family
I've been married for 14 years to my husband Derek. I have 2 boys ages 10 and 12. We have a Guinea Pig named Cookie. My boys are lucky to have grandparents who also live in this area. My oldest son has Asperger's Syndrome and inspires me in so many ways to think outside of the box when it comes to working with children in the schools. My other son loves to fish and tell stories about his adventures in the boat. Together we enjoy sporting events like baseball, softball, basketball and football.
My Interests
I also enjoy fishing, softball, volleyball and being outside. In the summer we go to the pool, parks and camping together as a family. I like to collect Moose. In my free time I also practice massage therapy and craniosacral therapy to help others feel better and learn to relax their bodies.
